Program Objectives
  • Develop Internet of Things (IoT) waste reduction solutions for a community
  • Promote learning across various disciplines
  • Cultivate a multidisciplinary, creative, and proactive culture in problem solving
Qualification
  • Age 15 - 28
  • Full-time students of tertiary level education (e.g. universities, IVE, community colleges, etc.)
  • Able to commit to all mandatory activities
  • With a valid passport by December 31, 2017

#Top 3 teams will be invited to the Japan trip and later stages of the program

Time Commitment

Participants must be able to commit to all mandatory dates. Additional hours to work on prototype development may also be required. The number of additional hours necessary will depend on collaborative group efforts. 

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant knowledge and/or experience in IoT, product design, or environmental issues

  • Demonstrated academic and/or extracurricular excellence

  • Though priority will be given to students in the fields of design, software engineering, environmental science and engineering, students of all disciplines are encouraged to apply

Selection Process

All applications will be reviewed. Only completed applications will be considered. Please refer to the application checklist and ensure all components are submitted on time. Decisions will be made in mid-March.

Please fill the application and submit the application materials through dropbox by March 1, 2017 11:59PM HKT.

In the application, you will be asked to provide basic personal information and answer the following prompts with 300 words or less.

  1. Please introduce yourself. Why is it important for you to be part of this program? How can you contribute to this program?
  2. Name one waste issue you hope to tackle. What inspired you?
  3. Please share any relevant project/experience you have participated in the past.
  4. Short bio
